TungstenT page |
I used to own
TungstenT
with PalmOS 5.0.
My Palm helps me in everything in my life (at work, at home, everywhere).
Here is the list of applications and other bits and pieces I found
useful while using my Palm. Most of them I just copied (or upgraded) from my
PalmVx, some are brand new and some became obsolete.
Unless otherwise noted, the stuff is
freeware.
System
-
Palm Tungsten T Update (May, 2003) [System upgrade]
Mandatory Tungsten upgrade.
-
LauncherX (V1.1.1) [Shareware]
by Little Mobile Creations.
This launcher program came with my Tungsten when I bought it.
I somehow got used to it. Especially, since Palm did nothing to improve
their basic software (Launcher, Datebook, Todo,...) from PalmOS V3
to PalmOS V5. They were just interested in fancy-schmancy multimedia
memory hogging junk. And even that could be done better.
There. I said it!
-
KsDatebook (V1.6.1)
by H. Kimura.
A very good replacement for Palm Datebook application. It has
lots of thingies I was longing for. Good job. There is also
KsToDo
(V1.6.1) from the same author and with the same quality.
-
McPhling (V5.71)
by Mike McColister.
A popup list of recently used applications.
It used to be hack (no longer available on PalmOS 5.0, but fortunately
Mike changed it to application. Good work!
-
McColors (V1.40)
by Mike McColister.
McColors is used to display all colors available on a Palm OS device. Neat.
-
Filez (V6.8.3)
by NoSleep Software.
A file manager application for PalmOS. Allows you to access any file
in your palm and change it's attributes (and of course it's dangerous!).
-
SnapCalc (V5.6.3)
by Ling Nero.
Simple calculator as a popup in every application.
It used to be Hackmaster stuff. I kinda missed it on PalmOS 5.
This is a version for PalmOS 5. Way to go, Ling.
-
SnapDates (V1.2)
by DALing Nero.
Date calculator as a PopUp. Handy.
-
Grafitti Anywhere (V1.5.5)
by Thierry Escande & Gilles Fabre.
Graffiti Anywhere allows you to use the Graffiti recognition system
anywhere on the screen.
-
ASCII Chart (V2.0.4)
by John Valdes.
A simple character set and font display utility.
-
ScrollBar (V2.0)
by Mark Tamura.
Slows down the rapid PalmOS 5.x scroll bars to a more usable rate.
-
BlueFang (V1.2)
by Ben Mitchell
Makes bluetooth 'on-and-offable' and thus conserves battery life.
-
aDSTKeeper (V4.6)
by A0soft
Takes care of switching Daylight Savings Time automatically twice a
year. Neat.
Viewers
-
QED (V2.90) [Shareware]
Palm doc (AportisDoc) viewer
by QLand.de.
I like this one because it has some nice features like virtual screen,
fixed fonts, etc... (Uuups, fixed fonts are gone in PalmOS 5). Too bad.
It is still good enough to beat any other doc viewer. At least for me.
If you register it also doubles as an editor.
Utilities
-
Keyring for PalmOS (V1.2.3)
by Martin Pool, Jochen Hoenicke, and others...
It's free and you can get it at
Sourceforge.
There is a couple of things still missing, but it's good enough for me.
-
Big Clock (V2.83)
The ultimate clock program
by Jens Rupp.
A clock program with alarms, worldtimes, countdown alarm, etc...
It's a shame I can't replace Palm World Clock with this program.
-
HandyShopper (V2.9c)
by Christopher Antos is basicaly a grocery list program.
In reality it does much more and can be used for a large
variety of applications.
-
DateDiff (V3.1)
by Robert Watkins.
Can compute how many day are between two dates. Handy.
-
DateMate (V2.8) [Shareware]
by MobiMate.
Never forget your friend's birthday or an important aniversary again.
-
Holidays (V1.1.6)
by Blue Light Software
(Andreas Ruge).
Define your own public holidays and import it to DateBook.
Unfortunately it doesn't work on PalmOS lower than 3.5).
-
Parens (V1.5) [Shareware]
by Rick Huebner.
A nice calculator, It also has a mode for currency conversion. A Palm
original is way too simple. Do not forget to install MathLib as well.
Unfortunately, as of May 28, 2002 Parens development and distribution
was discontinued and even
documentation
is not available any more.
-
IPcalc (V1.11)
by Lucas Wall.
It says: for lazy netadmins that don't want to get pen and paper
to do some bitwise calcs. Obviously, I qualify.
-

by CFBsoftware
Primes and factors of any number.
-

ChemTable (V2.26)

by Robert Eng.
-
Planetarium (V1.9) [Shareware]
by A. Hofer.
I never knew what I am watching up there until I found this program.
Now I can recognize all kinds of stuff there. It also doubles as compass.
Cool. There are higher versions, but not being a professional this one
is good enough for me (and it's a bit faster, too :-)

A small, handy ruler.
